Gas Leak Forces Evacuation Of Central PA Elementary School

A gas leak at an elementary lead to an emergency evacuation on Thursday morning, according to a release by police.

Northern Lancaster Regional Police helped evacuate Doe Run Elementary School in Penn Township following a reported gas leak at approximately 9:47 a.m., according to a release by police. 

The school, located at 281 Doe Run Road, "required evacuation due to a reported gas leak and existing environmental conditions within the building," as stated in the release.

The police helped with traffic control as the students and staff were safely relocated to the middle school.

No injuries or causal factors were reported.

Manheim Central School District and UGI did not immediately respond to requests for comments on the incident when Daily Voice reached out on Thursday afternoon.
